As the flight commander of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band and United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, Justin Lewis' duties include assisting band leadership to supervise all personnel and every mission performed by the 90-member organizations. He assists in supporting, planning events that uplift the troops, engender patriotism in American citizens, honor veterans, build strong international partnerships and recruit. Lewis recently graduated from the Defense Information School's public affairs qualification course, and now duly serves as a certified communications professional and spokesperson for the Department of Defense.
Lewis has served as Executive Director of of The Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute, a summer music festival of more than 200 musicians. He served as the Institute's director for three years at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He managed a faculty and staff of more than 20 renown pedagogues and performers from throughout North America and Europe. The Festival has been held in Central Pennsylvania for the past twenty-three years. It is one of 62 Institutes in North America that hold the title of official institutes of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Lewis used his experience in public relations to build community support and awareness of the festival. In addition to his responsibilities of recruiting exceptional faculty, scheduling, planning, marketing and advertising, he designed the Institute's first website, PennsylvaniaSuzukiInstitute.org.
